Raising Arrows
Raising Arrows is a podcast for the dad who's about to have his whole world flipped upside down — and the one who already has.
Hosted by Connor Sykes and Scott Stewart — two young fathers, husbands, and Christ-followers deep in the trenches of early fatherhood. Whether you just found out she's pregnant, you're holding your newborn wondering what the hell you got yourself into, or you're chasing a toddler who has zero regard for your energy levels — this show is for you.
We're not parenting experts. We're not talking from the other side of it. We're in it right now, and we're bringing you the raw, real conversations about what it looks like to step up as a husband, lead your home, stay close to God, and actually enjoy the wildest season of your life.
The stuff nobody told us. The stuff we wish someone had. That's what this show is.

Welcome to Raising Arrows.
We're Connor and Scott — two young dads, husbands, and Christ-followers figuring out fatherhood in real time. In this first episode, we introduce ourselves, our families, and why we felt called to start this podcast.
The truth? There's not a lot of real, faith-driven content out there for dads in the trenches of early fatherhood. No fluff. No "expert from a distance" energy. Just two guys walking through the toddler years, leading their families, chasing God's vision for their homes, and sharing what they're learning along the way.

So, this is episode one, guys. We're gonna be talking a little bit just about who we are, why we started this thing in the first place, really the point of raising arrows. My name is Connor Sykes. I am a father to two beautiful children, Bo and Haven. Bo is about three and a half, wild and crazy and fun. And Haven is two, she just turned two. My wife's name is Haley, and we've been married for just now over eight years, uh, which is crazy to think about. We just had our eight-year anniversary this March. I kind of have two jobs, you could say. So my wife and I, we co-own Hotworks together, which is an infrared fitness studio here in the Wesley Chapel area. And I also co-own an e-commerce business with my brother-in-law, Adam, a roller coaster ride of ups and downs for myself. The business has been doing great, but just trying to figure out this whole new lane of e-commerce that I was not in and everything, and then starting from the ground level truly to okay, how do you design a website? How do you sell well on Amazon since there's competition every single day coming in? It's been so much fun, and it's been a blessing to our family and our life just being able to just reap the rewards that God has placed at in my life, and it's just been amazing. That's kind of who I am in a gist.
SPEAKER_00And then Scott. Yeah, absolutely. My name is Scott Stewart. I have an amazing wife, Shay, married five years in November 2026. We have one son, he is about a year and a half years old. His name is Shiloh, he's the biggest blessing to our lives to date. We have one dog, Samson, and I am a local church pastor, and I do some communications, public relations stuff on the side, but primarily helping people connect with the Lord and grow in their walk with Jesus.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I would say that because of that and what you do, that brought me a heck of a lot closer, for sure. And that's kind of what led us to do this, along with our wives telling us you guys should do pop. 100%. But we definitely should give them praise for that. Haley and shave. We acted quick though. Yeah, credit. We acted fast. We were like, we should do this. All right, and we did. A little bit about why we started to do this, right? So we did this because we both are dads, and we've noticed that there's not a whole lot of content out there for new dads when your wife is pregnant, going through all the different trimesters of pregnancy and what are ways that you can prepare. And I did my research when Haley was going through this with Bo. There was nothing, there's not a whole lot of information out there, and it's a huge new phase of life that you're in right now. We just want to give our experience with it, tips and tricks that we have found that that worked for us, and it's not saying that it will work for you, but if there's something that we say that you relate to or that you're in a season of and it just connects, then we hope that it does work.
SPEAKER_00And I would say that the Bible talks about children being like the quiver of arrows. And so when we talk about raising arrows, we're talking about what it means to truly raise up the next generation, what that looks like in your home, and how important it is to not lose sight of I'm a dad, but I'm also a husband. You can actually do all of these things well if you do them God's way.
SPEAKER_01But that is why we're doing this, and we hope that you all get something out of this and let's kick things on. It's gonna be great. It's gonna be great.
